Beginnings

I was born in a small village in East Germany and emigrated to Canada at age seven. Rural Saskatchewan became my new home which I explored with a keen curiosity and wonder. As the years went by I acquainted myself with and lived in all three Western Canadian provinces.

As an only child, art became my language and as time went on, drawing and painting became an ardent passion. I trained as a registered nurse at the University of Saskatchewan. Working part time and raising a family, I continued to paint as time permitted, taking occasional workshops and classes. Since the year two thousand I have been painting full time at last giving full reign to a life long passion. I continue to create to the best of my ability and have been taking focused workshops from world class artists.

I have an insatiable desire to constantly experiment with new ideas and expand my boundaries. I struggled for some time against this vast diversity but I now embrace it as a unique gift. Using palette knife, brush and other methods I have a great freedom in expressing myself. Each subject dictates the style and each work is allowed that kind of commitment, liberty and integrity.

Constantly inspired by God’s vast creation I find I am motivated and challenged by my strong personal convictions, places I travel and people I meet.

My work is found in some public and numerous private collections.
